Ray Rice’s Domestic Violence Charge Against Wife Dismissed
Ray Rice’s domestic violence charge was dismissed by a judge Thursday morning after the former Baltimore Raven completed his pre-trial program. According to ESPN, Judge Michael Donio dismissed the charges Thursday the Atlantic County prosecutor told him Rice had completed the terms of his program.
“I was just presented with a dismissal order from Prosecutor [James] McClain — which means that Ray Rice has successfully completed all of his terms and conditions of his PTI — therefore based on the Prosecutors recommendation I will be signing Mr. Rice’s dismissal of his case today,” Donio told the media in an email.
Rice was originally charged after video of the football player hitting his then fiance, now wife, in an Atlantic City Hotel’s elevator was released. The player was also suspended from the NFL for his actions, first for a few games and then indefinitely after the NFL came under fire for what many viewed as too lenient a punishment.
