Tohoku suffered from a massive earthquake in 2011, which was actually the 7th largest recorded earthquake ever. The earthquake, which measured a 9.0 on the Richter scale, then triggered an awful tsunami that led to the death of approximately 15 million people.
Nevado del Ruiz Volcano Eruption
This eruption was the second-largest volcano-related incident in the 20th century, occurring in 1985. It was a tragedy, causing the death of over 25,000 people.
