10 Questions That Science Is Desperately Seeking To Answer
Lists, Nature, Science, ShockingThe inner working of the Cosmos is a deep and unrivaled mystery that continues to fascinate humanity. There are many cosmic and natural events that occur regularly that we have no answers to and the only thing we can do is keep looking. The best thing about science is that it isn’t afraid to admit that it doesn’t know something, and doesn’t try to cover up the missing pieces of information with fantastical stories. The mysteries of the universe continues to drive us forward and we seem to inch one step closer to the bigger picture every year. This list contains 10 questions that the scientific community is desperately trying to find answers to.
What Is Consciousness?
We know that we are all conscious and self-aware, but what is consciousness? What is sub-consciousness? Does the sub-consciousness affect the meta-physical world? Scientists are starting to believe that there is a direct link to our sub-conscious minds and the fate of the universe, but we don’t know anything for certain yet.
Why Do We Dream?
We have dreams each and every night, but the nature and impact of our dreams is still unknown. Even with concepts like lucid dreaming seeping into the mainstream, our actual knowledge about this daily activity seems extremely limited.
Are We Alone?
Arthur C. Clarke once said – “Two possibilities exist. Either we are alone in the universe, or we are not. Both are equally terrifying“. We don’t know if we are the only living beings in the observable universe, but the odds seem highly unlikely considering the size of the universe. We continue to send out signals ever year trying to contact distant beings and make them aware of our existence, but there has been no answers so far.
What Is The Universe Made Of?
Our universe is a vast and ever-expanding place that hosts all the things we know and love. Unfortunately, we are still unsure about what the universe is actually made of. Scientists now believe that most of space consists of dark matter, but we still don’t know makes dark matter, or any of its core properties.
Origin Of Life
We know that the Earth had the right conditions to create life many billion years ago, but we don’t know how life actually got started. What are the forces that created the first living being? Some scientists believe that this life came here on a meteorite from a distant place in the universe, but we are just not sure.
What Is At The Bottom Of The Ocean?
The ocean floor remain one of the most unexplored facets of our planet. There are so many hidden mysteries down there that one proper sweep could open up a host of other unsolvable questions for humanity.
Why Are Prime Numbers So Weird?
Prime numbers can’t be divided by anything but themselves and one, which is why they are used to maintain secure transactions online and form the lifeline of e-commerce. Apart from this use, they form an extremely strange pattern in the numerical system and scientists are trying to find out the reason behind this pattern. It could be connected to something we have no idea about right now.
What Do We Do With All The Carbon?
We continue to create an excessive amount of carbon every day, and this taking a horrible toll on our planet. We need to find a way to get rid of this enormous amounts of carbon, but we just don’t know how to do that yet.
Are There Other Universes?
We can only observe the activities within our universe, but are there other universes out there? Research has shown that there could be other universes within black holes as well. Are there universes outside this universe? Or are there other universes within this universe? Are we inside the black hole of someone else’s universe? These are questions we have no concrete answers to.
What Is In A Black Hole?
A black hole is formed when a star runs out of energy but still retains its gravitational pull. We have no idea what happens inside the massive gravitational force of a black hole, but chances are that it could either be another universe, or a portal to quickly move across the universe. We still don’t known anything for sure, though.
