Children love to watch the Disney channel to see their favorite shows. However, quite a few actors on Disney have demonstrated questionable behavior at one point in their lives. Childhood fame has not been all positive for some Disney stars, as they have ended up arrested, sent to jail or a rehab facility. Although there are quite a few Disney stars that continue make headlines daily for their dysfunctional past, such as Lyndsay Lohan and Miley Cyrus. There are also quite a few that have experienced a dysfunctional past that may have gone unnoticed. Demi Lovato

Demi Lovato got her start on Disney starring in the hits Camp Rock and Sonny with a Chance. However, she has battled with the eating disorder bulimia, suffered from substance abuse and bipolar disorder.

Vanessa Hudgens

Vanessa Hudgens is most well-known for her starring role in High School Musical. However, the Disney star had to deal with the scandal of having nude pictures released of her and posted all over the internet.

Lindsay Lohan

Disney embraced Lindsay Lohan and gave her leading roles in several movies, including Parent Trap, Freaky Friday, Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen and Herbie: Fully Loaded. However, Lohan has been associated with a multitude of negative publicity, starting with two drunk driving arrests, three rehab stints and a booking in jail.

Miley Cyrus

Miley Cyrus quickly dumped her Disney star Hannah Montana character’s persona as the good girl when she turned the 19 years old. Miley has since appeared on stage and in videos scantily clad. In addition, she recently appeared on the cover of a magazine nude and covered in body paint.

Britney Spears

Britney Spears got her start on Disney as a part of the Mickey Mouse Club. She has sent then become one of the most famous pop stars. Spears began to spiral out of control after her relationship ended with Kevin Federline. Spears shaved her head, exposed herself in public, had a nervous breakdown and had a marriage that lasted only one day in Vegas.

Shia LaBeouf

Shia LaBeouf starred in the Disney show Even Steven. Eventually, he went on to star in several blockbuster movies, including the Transformers series. LaBeouf was accused of plagiarizing an apology letter and he went out in public with a paper bag over his head. He was arrested for misdemeanor criminal trespassing and misdemeanor drunk driving. The actor even got into two physical altercations.

Zac Efron

Zac Efron the Disney Channel Original star of Movie High School Musical suffered from a drug and alcohol addiction and had to enter rehab.

Orlando Brown

Orlando Brown one of the stars of the Disney television show That’s So Raven, was arrested for drug possession charges and currently has bench warrants out for his arrest for failure to appear in court.

Lalaine

Lizzie McGuire’s costar Lalaine, who played Miranda Sanchez, is known for her drug use. In 2008, she was arrested for possession of meth.

Dutch Elijah Whitlock

Dutch Elijah Whitlock, another star of Disney Channel’s original star of Movie High School was arrested for his part in trying to rob a pizza place at gunpoint.

Brian Bonsall

Brian Bonsall starred in several Disney movies, but was most famously known for his role in Family Ties. Bonsall has been arrested for several DUIs and second-degree assault on his girlfriend.

Joe Jonas

Joe Jonas starred alongside his brothers in the Disney Channel original series Jonas. He also was a member of the band Jonas Brothers with his siblings before going solo. During an interview with the New York Magazine, Jonas admitted to smoking marijuana as a teenager alongside Miley Cyrus and Demi Lovato.

Dylan Sprouse

Dylan Sprouse, one-half of the twins that starred in the Disney Channel original series, The Suite Life with Zach and Cody, entered notoriety when he released nude pictures of himself to prove he was no longer the fat kid.

Monet Monico

Monet Monico, had a recurring role on the Disney Channel series The Suite Life with Zach and Cody. Monico, admitted on the Dr. Phil Show
that all she cared about was getting high. The former Disney Channel star’s addiction to drugs led her to living in the park and bathing in public restrooms.

Amanda Bynes

Amanda Bynes made short appearances on Disney shows, but is famously known for her Nickelodeon series The Amanda Show. Bynes started to spiral out of control when she was first arrested for drunk driving after side swiping a police vehicle. Then the actress, was charged with two hit and run accidents. Bynes spiraled further out of control when she dropped a bong out of her apartment window, went on raunchy Twitter rants and dropped a bong out of her New York City apartment rental. Eventually, Bynes family had her sent to a psychological institution where she was treated for her mental illness.

Fergie

Fergie first got her start as a member of the rock group Kids Incorporated. However, before the Disney star joined the band Black Eyed Peas she was treated for a meth addiction.

Jodie Sweetin

Jodie Sweetin, the middle sister on the hit television series Full House, wrote a memoir in which she talked about being addicted to drugs and alcohol. Although, she has been clean for quite some time, her drug of choice consisted of cocaine and ecstacy pills.

Macaulay Culkin

The Home Alone star Macaulay Culkin suffered from extensive drug abuse, to the point where it took a toll on his overall appearance. Fellow actress Mila Kunis, who is now married to Ashton Kutcher, was said to have dumped him because of his drug related addiction and refusal to enter rehab.

Jake T. Austin

While Jake T. Austin, Max on the Disney series Wizards of Waverly Place has stayed out of trouble for the most part. However, when he was 18 years old, Austin was pulled over and arrested for driving under the influence.

Anneliese van der Pol

Anneliese van der Pol, the costar of Disney’s That’s So Raven show was arrested for driving under the influence after taking a breathalizer test. According to the results, her blood alcohol level was at 0.19, which is more than double the legal limit.
