Grey’s Anatomy Fans Start Petition To Bring “McDreamy” Back
If you haven’t seen this past week’s Grey’s Anatomy, be prepared for some major spoilers! Patrick Dempsey’s beloved character Dr. Derek Shepherd (AKA McDreamy) died as a result of a collision and incompetent doctors in a heartbreaking episode this week. Dempsey has been on the show since its first season in 2005, and fans are understandably devastated by his death. Some fans are so upset, they even started a petition begging show creator Shonda Rhimes to bring him back.
Over 14,000 people have already signed the petition, exclaiming they don’t deserve the pain Derek’s death has caused them. Fans are imploring Rhimes to flip the script and have Derek’s death be just a dream or a hallucination, but their effort is in vain. Dempsey spoke out about Shepherd’s passing and explained he knew how devastated fans would be — “Shepherd is a beloved character. People don’t want to lose him. He’s been in their lives for over 10 years. But it goes on, and it will evolve.“
