Hannity’s mother, Lillian worked as a stenographer and a corrections officer at a county jail, and his father, Hugh Hannity was a World War II veteran and family court probation officer. At 1981, Hannity started his own house-painting business in Rhode Island, after a few years he moved to Santa Barbara, California and worked as a building contractor. Hannity evidently had showed keen interest in radio hosting as he made frequent phone calls to radio shows for an opening position. In 1989, he eventually landed his first radio talk show as a volunteer at the college station of the UC Santa Barbara, California — KBSC-FM, while working as a general contractor at the same time. For 7 years, Hannity hosted a country music-themed show from 2003 to 2010 to raise money for charity. However, complaints were made by an organization that only a tiny amount of the money raised went to target charities. As a result, the charity concerts stopped on that same year.

During Barack Obama’s presidency, Hannity continuously raised doubts about his conspiracy theory on his Fox program that Obama was not born on US soil, even with a certified birth certificate verified by the state of Hawaii. And made a snide remark about offering Obama a one-way ticket back to Kenya.

Another amazing conspiracy theory from Hannity was that the Democrats killed a DNC staff, Seth Rich. As a result, Fox lost several big-name advertisers, including cars.com and Crowne Plaza Hotels. The cringed National Review compared the story to a flat earth video. To further the mess, Seth Rich’s parents sued Fox News, and in 2020 the Rich family received millions of dollars from a settlement from Fox.

In 2020, Hannity was one of the participants in conference calls after the 2020 US presidential election to focus on strategies to challenge the vote counts as what Hannity called ‘a rigged election.‘

Sean Hannity met Jill Rhodes in 1991 when she was working as a political journalist at the Huntsville Times, Alabama. The two tied the knot in 1993 and have children together, Sean Patrick Hannity (1988) and Merri Kelly Hannity (2001). After more than 20 years of marriage, the couple announced their divorce in 2020.

After the divorce, Hannity has since dated Fox News host Ainsley Earhardt. In 2001, Hannity purchased a $5.3 million house within a short distance of Trump’s resort, Mar-a-Lago, in Palm Beach, Florida.
