This New Magic Mike XXL Trailer Shows There’s A Plot Behind Channing Tatum’s Muscles

Warner Bros. Executives seems to have learned their lesson from the release of the initial teaser of the sequel of the widely acclaimed Magic Mike movie. Rather than focusing on the cheesiness and showing off the abs of Channing Tatum and his allies, the trailer focuses on the self-aware comedic plot of the movie.

While this new Magic Mike XXL trailer can’t please everyone, it does show that the guys in the movie have to show not only muscle, but wit as well. As there is a new male-stripper convention coming up, the men have to come up with new moves that will entice the audience. The trailer also gives us the first look at the new cast members, including Jada Pinkett Smith, Donald Glover and Andrie MacDowell.

Magic Mike XXL will hit theaters on July 1st, but you can take your first glimpse of the movie down below.
