Wild Animals Discover Their Reflections, Their Reactions Are Priceless

When you wake up in the morning, one of the first things you do is head to the bathroom where most people tend to look at themselves in the mirror. However, the animal kingdom is a little different. Animals don’t often recognize their own reflection, at least the good majority don’t — there are a select few animals that are capable of recognizing their own reflection in a mirror, however.

French photographer Xavier Hubert Brierre traveled to the African country of Gabon along the coast to install a giant mirror in the middle of the wild. Various animals ventured forth to explore this new intruder in their natural setting, and the reaction most of them had was priceless.

The gorilla, one of many animals that stepped forward, easily had the best reaction of them all. Watch closely to the other monkeys, however.
