Stephen Colbert and Eminem Take Over Michigan Public Access Show

Comedian and talk-show host Stephen Colbert astounded the small town of Monroe, Michigan with a surprise takeover of the local public access show Only in Monroe. The hilarious 41 minute program was initially broadcast around midnight on Michigan’s Mpac station. The episode went viral when it was uploaded to YouTube a short while later.

At the top of the show, Colbert chatted with the show’s usual hosts, Monroe residents Michelle Bowman and Kaye Lani Rae Rafko Wilson. Talking points included pedicures and an ongoing quarrel between a local restaurant owner and a mysterious Yelp reviewer known as “Mark M”. Around 22:00 minutes in, Colbert welcomes “a local Michigander who is making a name for himself in the competitive world of music.” The local Michigander? Marshall Mathers, also known as Eminem.
