Los Angeles Police Department Under Fire For Shooting And Killing Homeless Man

The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) is under new scrutiny after this video surfaced of cops having a run-in with what appears to be a homeless man on LA’s “skid row”. The video shows the man swinging his arms at Los Angeles Police officers before the group of cops swarm him and begin to try and hold him down. After a few minutes of tussling, one voice can be heard yelling that he needs to “drop the gun” and then give gunshots ring out.

After the Los Angeles Police Officers have killed the man, a crowd of onlookers can be heard asking the cops why they had to do that. One voice points out that the officers had the man tased and subdued and there didn’t seem to be a reason to shoot him. The new surfaced video seems to be inline with a number of other clips showing police officers around the country shooting or killing people that were either no threat or appeared properly subdued.

The LAPD has issued a statement that they are investigating the situation but preliminary reports have found that the man did not have a gun.
