Discovery Of Tomb Of Nefertiti May Be The Most Significant Archaeological Find Of Recent History
It’s been long since we’ve heard anything enticing from the archaeological world, but while we waste our everyday lives clicking away on the internet, specialists are working on the reconstruction of our history. Taking all the little bits of information we have and arranging the puzzle pieces together, archaeologist are trying to answer age old questions such as – where we come from and who are we.
While we are still miles away from such knowledge, Dr. Nicholas Reeves, a respected archaeologist from the University of Arizona believes he can take us a step closer, by claiming to have the exact pinpoint location of the tomb of Queen Nefertiti.
Known for spawning a religious revolution of worshiping only one God, which may have very well led to the appearance of our modern day religions a few thousand years after her rule of Egypt, Nefertiti is one of the most well known female figures in written human history. Having that in mind, the discovery of her tomb may very well be the most significant archaeological find of the century.
On paper, after studying high-resolution scans of the walls of the tomb of King Tutankhamun, Dr. Nicholas has found that there are two hidden entrances behind a painted plaster. If Tutankhamun’s tomb is built on top of Nefertiti’s one, as Dr. Nicholas claims, this may further explain why Tutankhamun’s burial chamber is far smaller compared to the tombs of other Pharaohs of the time.
What’s left now that everything seems on point on paper? Well, after approval for digging from the Egyptian government – the digging itself. Rejoice! We may now have yet another mummy to never go to visit in the museum, but look at pictures online. At least we’ll have yet another part of our history finally revealed.
