Thieves Break Into A Empty Bank Nearly A Year After It Closed Down

A group of thieves attempted broke into a bank without realizing that it had actually been shut for almost a year and was completely empty. While most bank robbers tend to target buildings that they know will have plenty of valuables inside, these criminals were left disappointed at the lack of cash.

The bank itself was a branch of the Royal Bank of Scotland in Clydebank, Scotland, but it had closed almost a year prior and no longer contained anything of worth, though there were two cash machines affixed to the outside of the building that the thieves might have believed could be accessed from inside the bank.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland confirmed the break-in, saying: “Around 1.50am on Sunday, police were called to a report of an attempted housebreaking at a former branch of the Royal Bank of Scotland at Rockbank Place in ClydebankOfficers are trying to trace three men seen running from the building. Inquiries are continuing and any witnesses are asked to contact Police Scotland on 101.
