Cyclist Knocked Off Bike By Spectator

Just moments before finishing the Molecaten Drentse 8 in the Netherlands, an Australian cyclist was hit by a spectator causing her to flip over her bike and wipe out. The unlucky biker was moments away from the crossing the finish line when the spectator smacked her handle bars.

At about 7 seconds, you can see the incident happen on the right side of the video. The 26-year-old Loren Rowney flips over her bike and rolls on the pavement. She didn’t let the accident stop her though. After recovering, the cyclist crawled towards the finish line and managed to cross it.

Medical officials rushed to her aid once she made it across the line. Luckily, her injuries weren’t severe and she only suffered a broken collar bone. Rowney finished seventh in the race, which is a shame because at the time of her accident she was neck and neck with the leading cyclist.
