10 Weird And Crazy Laws In Minnesota
History, Lists, Other, WeirdMinnesota entered the United States as the 32nd property back in 1858. It contains the 12th largest area and is the 21st-most populated state in the nation. It’s home to the famous Twin Cities, Minneapolis-St. Paul, a large amount of political interest, and it’s overall friendly environment. As friendly as it is, the state still isn’t devoid of stupid laws from its past. From not driving red cars to not allowing people to sleep naked, here are some of the dumbest ones we could find.
No Airplanes In City Parks
Unless people have a permit, they can’t start or land aircraft in city parks. This also includes air balloons, parachutes, and hang gliders.
Can’t Walk Down Alleyways
In Minneapolis, unless specially certified, the general public cannot walk down an alleyway. To be honest, who would want to walk down them in a bigger city anyway?
Red Cars Not Allowed On Lake Street
Another interesting law in Minneapolis involves no red cars on Lake Street. However, as expected, this law is no longer enforced.
Can’t Cross Borders With Ducks On Head
For anybody that likes to wear a duck on their head like a top hat, this law is for you. Apparently you won’t be able to cross state borders with that animal on your cranium.
No Chickens On Head When Entering Wisconsin
Specific to just the border on the side of Wisconsin, neither ducks nor chickens are acceptable on top of people’s heads. Peacocks, however, are still all right.
Can’t Stand Around Any Building
Anybody that loiters around “any structure, vehicle, or private grounds” and doesn’t have respective approval is grounds for a misdemeanor charge.
No Hamburgers On Sunday
St. Cloud forbids the act of eating hamburgers on Sunday. We agree — those days should be spent stuffing yourself at a brunch buffet so you don’t have to eat for the rest of the day.
Can’t Sleep Naked
Enjoy spending time under the covers in your birthday suit? Minnesotans aren’t allowed to do that. At least you’ll want to be under covers as winter is the best seven months of the year.
No Guilt Trips To Massage Parlor
Customers cannot be in a massage parlor between the hours of 11:00 PM and 6:00 AM. They specifically forbid people directing others into those places that violate the laws.
Can’t Have Oral Sex
The sexual act is actually prohibited in the entire state. While anytime it happens there’s a crime being committed, similar to red cars not being allowed on a random street, it’s definitely not enforced. Unless you plan to do it in public, which cops can get you with something else.
