Raven-Symone Causes More Controversy With Remarks About Race

Actress Raven-Symone made headlines in the past year over her statements saying that she doesn’t consider herself to be African American. In a recent interview, Raven-Symone decided to clarify her remarks on not being African American, but she only made things worse. The 29-year-old claimed that she wants to be recognized as an American because she doesn’t know exactly where her African roots originated.

Raven-Symone recently did a DNA test with Ancestry and in the interview she claimed “I am from every continent in Africa except for one and I’m from every continent in Europe except for one.” The problem? Africa and Europe are continents. Perhaps Raven-Symone meant she was from every country on the continents Africa, and Europe. Her geographical mishaps made her a trending topic on both Facebook and Twitter. She also went viral on Vine and Instagram. Raven-Symone has yet to speak out about her ‘being from every continent’ comment.
