Archer Lars Andersen Has Amazing Skills, Putting Robin Hood To Shame

Lars Andersen is so remarkable that he puts fictional archers like Legolas from Lord of the Rings, Katniss Everdeen from The Hunger Games, and even Robin Hood to shame. He holds the world record for speed shooting, being able to fire ten arrows in 4.9 seconds, or three arrows in 0.6 seconds.

Lars has spent a great deal of time studying the history of archery. From old texts, paintings, and murals, Lars has learned much and now works to disprove many conventional myths surrounding archery. The Hollywood quiver, Lars discovered, proves to be cumbersome and essentially useless. Instead, belt quivers are much more practical. And what’s more, Lars often holds his arrows in the same hand that draws the bow, and doing so allows him to immediately replace an arrow after the previous one has been fired. This method of firing was considered a necessity by historical archers who fought in real battles.

Another myth Lars dispels is that archers remained stationary while firing and shot only at targets at long distance. Not true. Thanks to his quick-firing, Lars can engage multiple targets, which may be moving or not, in close quarters. And to gain more power in close-quarter shots, Lars actually pushes his bow forward as he releases the drawstring. His greatest feat is to split another arrow that has been shot at him.
