In the US, there are more than 9 people killed and over 1,100 people injured in crashes involving distracted drivers every day. This video from AAA illustrates perfectly how being distracted affects the driving abilities of the individuals behind the wheel. The teens featured in this video can be seen texting, with their eyes off the road or distracted by friends, causing them to careen off the road in both daylight and at night. While this video is aimed at teen drivers, the individuals in this video could have been anyone.

While there are no tragic crashes shown in the video, it is easy to spot the problem with the drivers. These accidents could have been much worse, however they also could have been avoided altogether. Analysis suggests that 6 out of 10 similar incidents are a result of distracted drivers, with this data analyzed by AAA is nearly four times as severe as official estimates based on police reports.
