Barbadian-born Rihanna premiered her new song American Oxygen with a music video on Tidal, Jay Z’s new music-streaming website. To be able to see the video you’re either to pay a membership fee of $20 or use a free trial. Tidal, Jay Z’s response to YouTube, was backed by Beyonce, Rihanna, Daft Punk, Madonna and many more.

The song is Rihanna’s firing back to the happenings in the US. The song focuses on mostly racist issues, featuring footage of the Ferguson riots, 9/11, Martin Luther King Jr.’s coffin, and the Ku Klux Klan. While performing for the first time, Rihanna took on Indiana’s controversial Religious Freedom Restoration Act, which in its original language would allow business owners to refuse service to anyone on the basis that doing so is exercising their right to religious freedom. Many viewed the law as an attempt to legalize discrimination against the LGBT community. Before launching into her song Rihanna said, “Who’s feeling these new bullsh**t laws they’re trying to pass over here? I say f**k that sh*t.“
