Alison Sweeney Announces Departure From The Biggest Loser
According to E! News, Alison Sweeney has decided to leave ‘The Biggest Loser’ before the show’s 17th season even begins. Alison Sweeney took the role as host on the weight loss series back in 2007 during the show’s fourth season.
Back in 2014, Alison Sweeney decided to leave her role as Sami Brady after twenty-one years on ‘Days of Our Lives’ to focus on her family and her hosting gig on ‘The Biggest Loser’. At the time, Sweeney stated that she was nervous about the big change but was more than ready for something new. “This is the first really big change I’ve had in a long time. Change makes me a little nervous.”
In a released statement, producers of ‘The Biggest Loser’ said they are proud of their run with Alison Sweeney, but her time as a host has come to an end. “After an incredible run together, Alison Sweeney will not be returning as host of The Biggest Loser next season.”
NBC has yet to announce who will take over hosting. Reports are stating the network will release hosting information early next month. ‘The Biggest Loser’ is currently filming its 17th season.
