Bathtub Filled With Coke and Mentos, This Was Never Going To End Well

As children, everyone used to hear from the adults within our lives that you should never mix Mentos with caffeinated soda, as it would more often than not cause an explosion. Well, it appears those parents that were cautiously watching over us were on to something with that warning. Unfortunately, however, there was one individual out there in the world who chose not to listen to this sage advice. Instead, this man decided his time would be better spent by covering himself in Mentos and then jumping into a bathtub filled with Coca-Cola.

Hajime, a young man from Japan, used Sellotape to cover his entire body with as many Mentos as he possibly could. The bathtub, which was rather small, was filled with Coke Zero. With a bit of a running start, Hajime leapt into the bathtub, which made the mixture have a sudden reaction.

With the combination, the liquid within the tub begins to bubble furiously. Litres of Coke explode out of their half full bottles. The end results were not quite as dramatic as people may have been hoping for, but it was still interesting to see the massive mess Hajime left behind in his bathroom.
