Burglar Arrested After Mistakenly Dialing Police With His Butt

A burglar has been caught by police and charged with a variety of crimes after he accidentally tipped them off because he butt-dialed 911. The bumbling criminal was talking to his friend about an upcoming burglary without realizing that he had called the police and that operators were listening to everything he said. During the conversation with his alleged accomplice, he spoke about how he empties drawers to ensure he gets every valuable item he can.

The operators then handed the information over to the police, who then used the intelligence to not only find 42-year-old Scott Robert Esser but also indict him this week on theft, burglary and some other charges.

He was arrested after revealing his plans to break into homes in the Stafford and Branchburg areas, with police seizing jewelry, electronic devices, bonds, money and a gun that they recovered from his vehicle. He has since been remanded in custody with bail set at $100,000.
