GTA Online Heists TV Ad Aims To Steal The Show

2013’s Grand Theft Auto 5 was a hot commodity, but no one could have guessed that it would go on to rake in the money that it did — starting with a whopping one billion dollars in just three days following its release. That’s a bigger number than the GDP of some countries. While those records would be enough to make anyone bow out gracefully, the creators at Rockstar Games aren’t content with leaving it at that; there’s a PC version of the game on the way, and the downloadable content for its online mode — better known as Heists — is packed in. Those that didn’t know about it will soon, thanks to this upcoming TV spot.

All of the series’ standbys are present and accounted for — guns, vehicles, crime, chases, and of course explosions. Those that aren’t so easily swayed by the sight of flying jets might note that, reportedly, every bit of game footage shown off is from the PC version. It’s a point of interest for players that love examining graphics, and even beyond that, the TV spot puts the action any buyer would expect on-screen — albeit with some fancy cinematography.

It’s worth noting that Rockstar intends to have the TV spot start airing this weekend, so chances are high that it’ll spread serious awareness. With the money it has stocked in the war chest, it’s safe to assume that there’s a healthy marketing budget — and those who hear the good word can help break records all over again.
