Incredible Footage of Grandfather Saving Child From Train Tracks

Amazing CCTV has emerged showing the moment that a 62-year-old grandfather jumped onto a busy train track to save his 18-month-old granddaughter. The man, who had only arrived from India to Australia three days earlier, had turned his back on the pram for just a few seconds before it rolled from the platform onto the track.

With a freight train bearing down on the youngster, the grandfather sparked into actions, sprinting towards the track and jumping onto the rails. He then carefully passed his granddaughter to other members of his family but wasn’t able to get back on the platform because it was too high. He then had to sprint further down the station to get to safety.

Police praised the actions of the 62-year-old man saying, “[It was] heroic. He’s run down the tracks to the end of the platform.”

They also went on to confirm that the child was almost completely unhurt. Despite falling several feet from the platform to the track, she had been protected by the pram and only had a few cuts and bruises on her face.
