Sons of Anarchy Star Alan O’Neill Dies At 47
47-year-old Alan O’Neill, best known for his role of Hugh in Sons of Anarchy, has been found dead in the hallway of his girlfriend’s home in Los Angeles On June 6th. O’Neill, who was in seasons six and seven on Sons of Anarchy playing True IRA member Hugh, reportedly had a history of heart problems and struggled with alcoholism.
The Irish-born actor was also known for Fair City (2006-2012), and Inspector George Gently (2007-2017). Currently, the cause of O’Neill’s death is not being treated as suspicious, however an autopsy will be conducted. His death has been confirmed by his manager, Greg Meyer, and his manager Annette Walsh told Variety “I’ll personally miss known Alan isn’t sharing the planet with us any longer, despite the miles between L.A. and Dublin, Alan was only ever a phone call away.”
