South Carolina Police Officer Charged With Murder After Shooting Unarmed Man

Yesterday, a new accusation of a police officer shooting an unarmed man surfaced, but this time the shooting was caught on video by a bystander. In the video, the victim of the shooting was clearly running away after a short scuffle with the officer. The policeman, identified as Michael Slager, claimed through his lawyer that he felt his life was in danger when he pulled Walter Scott over for a broken tail light.

The officer claims that Scott grabbed his taser during the scuffle, but that doesn’t explain why the officer fired off eight shots as Scott was running away. Check out the video of the incident, which includes the South Carolina law enforcement official seemingly place something next to Scott’s body after the shooting.
