Taylor Swift Announces Mother Is Battling Cancer
In some sad news for the day, Taylor Swift has gone to her Tumblr account and made a big announcement regarding her mother, Andrea Finlay. It appears that her mother is battling cancer and while Taylor did not give many details about the cancer or treatment, she wanted to let her fans know.
In her post, Taylor said that her and her brother asked their mother to go get screenings done as a Christmas present to them to calm their nerves. Her mother had no health issues and was feeling perfectly fine, but they still wanted to make sure. Taylor’s mother agreed and Taylor wrote: “The results came in, and I’m saddened to tell you that my mom has been diagnosed with cancer. I’d like to keep the details of her condition and treatment plans private, but she wanted you to know.”
The reason Taylor is sharing the information is because her mother felt fine and we often go through our lives feeling fine, but something like this could happen to any of us. It is a sad story, but a great opportunity to get the word out there that everyone should get checked for cancer, regardless of how good they feel on a daily basis.
