You Won’t Visit The California Sea Side Once You Learn What Washed Up On Shore
Most people recognize Santa Catalina Island for its beautiful seaside and picturesque views. However, last week it became obvious that the calm and relaxing waves hold a dark secret underneath them – sea monsters.
Oarfish, also known as the Sea Serpent, usually live at depths of 3,000 feet and this is the reason why you haven’t probably heard of their existence. However, people at Santa Catalina Island managed to get their hands on one, as a 15-foot-long gigantic sea serpent washed up on the shore off the California coast.
Donated for scientific research by the Santa Catalina Island’s Harbor Patrol, the gigantic sea monster was so heavy that it took 16 people to successfully carry it. Furthermore, it raises a number of questions, including “When is it safe to dissect it? Why is it dead? Why was it so close to the surface? Are there more? Why are oarfish becoming more and more gigantic?” What ever questions we have, hopefully they’ll be answered soon, as these oarfish are washing up far more frequently, as one was recently spotted ashore in New Zealand.
